Pierrette Marquet, en religion Soeur Perpétue, était la Mère supérieure du couvent Saint Charles de Lyon à Chaponost (Rhône). En septembre 1942, à la veille de la l’année scolaire, la famille Honigbaum fut appel à elle. Juifs parisiens, ils avaient réussi à fuir la capitale lors des grandes rafles de juillet et après une longue errance, étaient arrivés à Lyon. Ils souhaitaient faire admettre leur fille Jacqueline (7 ans) et leurs deux nièces Suzanne (9 ans) et Liliane (4 ans) à l’internat du couvent. La Mère supérieure accepta; Jacqueline découvrit bientôt que parmi les pensionnaires se trouvaient d’autres fillettes juives. Les autorités soupçonnaient les religieuses de cacher des réfugiées, aussi l’établissement était-il fréquemment contrôlé. A chaque fois Soeur Perpétue faisait cacher les petites juives dans une cave où étaient entreposés des sacs de charbon. Jacqueline supportait mal ce climat d’inquiétude, d’autant que la situation s’aggrava avec l’occupation de la zone sud par les Allemands. Les Honigbaum prirent alors la décision de partir à Nice, passée sous le contrôle des Italiens. En février 1943, ils retirèrent donc les trois fillettes du couvent. Lorsque les Allemands envahirent Nice en septembre de la même année, la famille s’enfuit à nouveau, trouvant refuge à Saint-Denis-Laval près de Lyon. Ils se lièrent avec la boulangère, Paule Bouchard et son époux, et avec le commandant de la gendarmerie locale, M. Gueskin. Grâce à ces amis, les fugitifs étaient informés des rafles prévues, se terraient alors dans leur cachette, où la boulangère leur apportait de quoi manger. En temps normal, Jacqueline allait tous les jours à la boulangerie et Paule Bouchard la comblait de gâteries. Le lien né entre cette dernière et la fillette se perpétua longtemps après la guerre. A la fin de l’année 1943, M, Honigbaum rejoignit un maquis; sa femme trouva où se cacher à Lyon après avoir placé Jacqueline et ses deux cousines au couvent Saint François de Sales à Voiron (Isère). La Mère supérieure, Soeur Thérèse Lucie, confia les trois fillettes à Soeur Françoise Elisabeth. Elles furent admirablement traitées et choyées. Jacqueline passait ses week-ends chez la patronne d’un café de la ville, Anaïs Bouverot, amie de ses parents. Au cours du printemps de 1944, les maquisards, nombreux dans la région de Voiron, livrèrent de véritables batailles rangées aux soldats allemands et à la milice. Le couvent, proche des zones de combat, fut fouillé plus d’une fois. Soeur Thérèse Lucie fit de son mieux pour protéger les enfants, mais Jacqueline, à nouveau paniquée, se réfugia chez Anaïs Bouverot qui la ramena saine et sauve chez sa mère à Lyon en juin 1944.
Le 11 janvier 1998, Yad Vashem a décerné à Soeur Perpétue (Pierrette Marquet), Paule Bouchard et son époux M. Bouchard, Soeur Françoise Elisabeth, Soeur Thérèse Lucie et Anaïs Bouverot le titre de Juste des Nations.
