L'histoire
Victor Delcroix dirigeait une importante usine à Lille. Sa femme Georgette et lui n’hésitèrent pas à aider des Juifs à plusieurs reprises, malgré le danger que cela impliquait dans cette ville occupée. Le 11 septembre 1942, juste avant Rosh Hachana, eut lieu une grande rafle des Juifs de Lille et de sa région. Victor Delcroix se précipita chez les Biezunski, des réfugés juifs qui étaient ses amis, et amena chez lui le couple et leur petit garçon de trois ans. Ils y restèrent cachés jusqu’à ce que l’industriel ait réussi à leur procurer de faux papiers. Victor Delcroix les conduisit ensuite jusqu’à la ligne de démarcation. Sa femme Georgette les attendait de l’autre côté, et les aida à arriver en Dordogne. Grâce au dévouement des Delcroix, la famille Biezunski survécut à l’Occupation. Victor et Georgette vinrent également au secours de Bernard et Hélène Barnink. Ces réfugiés juifs belges étaient les amis des Biezunski, qui les avaient adressés aux Delcroix. Victor les aida à trouver une cachette où ils vécurent en sécurité jusqu’à la Libération. Salomon et Nelly Wiener, des parents des Biezunski, eurent également la vie sauve grâce à l’asile que leur avait trouvé Victor Delcroix.
Le 19 février 1976, Yad Vashem a décerné à Victor et Georgette Delcroix le titre de Juste des Nations.
